ROCKLAND ? A job fair will be held on Tuesday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the office of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, located at 91 Camden St. in Rockland. All job seekers are welcome.

?This job fair shows how Maine people can benefit when state agencies work together to meet our challenges," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "Employers in this region have hundreds of jobs to offer this summer, and I encourage job seekers to take advantage of this opportunity.?

Among the employers who have signed up for this event so far are Maine Department of Corrections, North End Composites, several staffing agencies and Wal-Mart. Employers will be seeking to fill an estimated 250 job vacancies in the region.

Department of Labor staff from the Rockland CareerCenter will be on hand to assist job seekers in getting their free access to hundreds of opportunities listed on the Maine Job Bank at http://www.mainecareercenter.com . Employers can post jobs on the Job Bank for free.

The event is sponsored by DHHS and the Maine Department of Labor and is a result of the tri-agency collaboration undertaken by the commissioners of the Departments of Labor, Education and DHHS. The collaboration seeks to leverage the strengths of each agency to assist people in finding good jobs through education and training, career counseling and supportive services.

There is no cost for this event, and all jobseekers are welcome. The easily accessible DHHS office is on the street level of the building, and there is plenty of free parking.
