Public Input Sought on Services for people who are Blind and Visually Impaired Bookmark and Share

Public hearings are scheduled on proposed plan for Vocational Rehabilitation and Supported Employment Services for people who are blind or have a visual impairment.

The Maine Department of Labor Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired will hold a series of public hearings on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 to receive feedback on the State Plan for Vocational Rehabilitation and Supported Employment Services for people who are the blind or have a visual impairment. The forums are scheduled at 1:00 PM at CareerCenters in Portland, Augusta, Bangor and Presque Isle.

To request a draft copy of the state plan, obtain additional information, or request auxiliary aids, services, or accommodations in order to participate in the hearings, please call 207-623-7956 (TTY 1-888-755-0023) as soon as possible.

Written comment on the plan may be mailed to Paul Cote, Regional Director, Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 150 State House Station, Augusta ME 04333-0150. You can also email comments to Paul.E.Cote@maine.gov. The deadline on all written comments is 5:00 P.M., June 18, 2008.
