Disability and Employment Committee Reviews Accomplishments, Sets Goals
May 1, 2008
Members of the Maine Jobs Council Subcommittee on Disability and Employment met this week to talk about ongoing work to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Maine.
The group discussed progress made on each one of the six goals included in its 2006-2008 Strategic Plan and looked at opportunities, challenges, and key partnerships to move forward in the coming year.
The Commission was established by the legislature in 1997 and promotes collaboration with the public and private sectors to increase awareness and influence policy related to employment for people with disabilities.
