ELLSWORTH?The Hancock County Job Fair will be held on April 3, 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon at the VFW Post 109, 419 Main Street in Ellsworth. More than 30 employers will be recruiting for open positions.

?This job fair will be a wonderful showcase of Hancock County employers,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?We encourage anyone interested in a new job to get out and talk to businesses before the busy summer season.?

Employers registered to date include: Assistance Plus, Avon, Bangor Daily News, Bar Harbor Bank and Trust, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Bonney Staffing Center, Care and Comfort, Cianbro, the Department of Health and Human Services, Eastern Maine Medical Center, EBS Building Supplies, Elscott Manufacturing, LLC, Governor's Restaurant, Home Care for Maine, Jackson Laboratory, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Maine Fair Trade Lobster, LLC, Maine Staffing Group, Manpower, MAS Homecare, Mount Desert Island Hospital, MEMA Technical Education Center, National ABLE Network, Newland Nursery, Northeast Safety, Inc., Origami Owl, RSU 24 Adult Education, Sam?s Club, Springborn Staffing, U.S. Cellular, VIP, Wal-Mart, and Witham Family Properties.

Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette reminded jobseekers to come prepared and to dress professionally. ?Attendees should bring a resume and be prepared to have an ?interview-like? conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities,? she said. ?You always want to make a positive first impression.?

The Maine Department of Labor, the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, Eastern Maine Development Corporation and the Bangor CareerCenter are sponsoring this event.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of workshops and services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O?Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
