Women in Construction Week: 'Build Your Future' Trades Hiring Event This Wednesday
BANGOR - Join the Maine Department of Labor this Wednesday at the Bangor Tri-County CareerCenter from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. for a "Build Your Future" hiring event, featuring multiple employers from the trades and construction industries eager to connect with job seekers.
Hosted during Women in Construction Week, this event is a great opportunity to explore career paths, meet hiring managers face-to-face, and learn about openings ranging from entry-level to experienced roles.
Employers and resource providers will include:
- Bath Iron Works
- Versant Power
- Cianbro
- Manpower Group
- Old Town Canoe
- Safety Works
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Eastern Maine Development Corporation
- Maine Apprenticeship Program
In May 2024, Governor Mills signedExecutive Order 7: An Order Regarding Women in Construction to increase the representation of women in construction careers. MDOL is collaborating with agency partners to advance this executive order, with a goal of increasing the representation of women in construction in Maine from today's 15%.
