MDOL Publishes Information for 2025 Unemployment Claimants
AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Labor is reminding anyone who received unemployment benefits in 2025 that they will soon be receiving a 1099-G to be used when filing their taxes. If their mailing address has changed, the Department asks that they update their mailing address in their unemployment account by December 31, 2025 to ensure they receive their 1099-G. The U.S. Post Office is prohibited from forwarding this mail to a different address.
They can do so by:
Logging into their account at https://reemployme.maine.gov/
Selecting the 'Benefits Maintenance' tab, then Update Claimant Profile, and then Contact Details to update their address.
No later than January 31, 2026, claimants will be sent a 1099-G form by mail to be used when filing their taxes. The 1099-G form will also be available online through their ReEmployME account.
There are answers to common 1099-G questions on MDOLs website: www.maine.gov/unemployment/
