MAINE - Are you a job seeker and not sure what the next step in your career is, or an employer looking to expand your workforce? The Maine Department of Labor's CareerCenters, together with their partners, offer many services to help people find employment or upgrade skills, and help employers find qualified workers.

JOB SEEKERS

Workshop: Email Basics July 8, 2024 from 12 p.m. & July 9, 2024 from 1-2 p.m.

Location: Northern Kennebec Valley CareerCenter - SEDC 23 Stanley Rd KVCC--Alfond Campus, Averill Building, Hinckley ME

Learn the basics of using email in this class. We will look at navigating, composing, replying, working with attachments and more, with hands-on class participation. Requirements for this class: A device connected to the internet and an email account.

Workshop: Using Gmail Effectively July 22, 2024 from 23 p.m.

Location: Northern Kennebec Valley CareerCenter - SEDC 23 Stanley Rd KVCC--Alfond Campus, Averill Building, Hinckley ME

Email is a means of communicating with others, throughout the world, in a fast and efficient manner. This class will cover the terms and techniques necessary to use email in an efficient, safe and organized manner.

Requirements for this class: No devices are required; just bring yourself.

Note: This class takes place on-site in Hinckley, ME at Northern Kennebec Valley CareerCenter SEDC.

Workshop: Using Facebook Securely July 24, 2024 from 23 p.m.

Location: Northern Kennebec Valley CareerCenter - SEDC 23 Stanley Rd KVCC--Alfond Campus, Averill Building, Hinckley ME

This class is designed to teach current Facebook account holders how to use Facebook more securely, how to understand all privacy options, and how to change privacy options so the information you share on Facebook is only available to those you wish to see it.

Requirements for this class: A device connected to the internet and a Facebook account.

Each of the centers across the state provides public computers with internet access, Microsoft Office, resume/cover letter writing software, and O*Net - https://www.onetonline.org/ software for personal skills assessment.

Employers can list their open positions on Maine JobLink and use our online system which matches jobs with candidates. All CareerCenter services are provided at no charge to employers and job seekers. Veterans and eligible spouses receive priority of service in all Department of Labor programs.
