SPRINGVALE - The York County CareerCenter in Springvale, located at 9 Bodwell Ct, Springvale, will hold a series of workshop programs during the month of June for job seekers and those considering training to increase their skills and employability. CareerCenters can assist businesses by offering workshops on location, at local businesses or other organizations at no cost. The following workshops and programs will be held at the CareerCenter in Springvale unless otherwise noted.
Essentials of College Planning Workshop:
- Monday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Monday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Monday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Monday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
A free interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning, and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately 2 - 3 hours. York County Monthly Job Fairs at the CareerCenter:
- Monday, June 10, noon to 3 p.m.
- Monday, June 24, noon to 3 p.m.

Basic Business Startup Class:
- Thursday, June 27 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Are you thinking about starting a new business or purchasing one but do not have the knowledge or experience? Many people consider business ownership as an alternative to employment. Do you have a great idea to fill a need? Are you a subject matter expert in your field? Have you been working in your industry and are now interested in branching out on your own? Do you need to know more about the ins and outs of operating a business? This workshop will help you start out on the right path. This two (2) hour workshop will cover the basics of starting a business. We will cover paths to business ownership, sources of financing, developing a business plan, and who the SBA resource partners are as well as many other topics to help you decide if small business ownership is for you.
