Augusta, Maine - A Job Fair for the Construction/Trades is planned in Presque Isle for Thursday April 25th from 10am-2pm at the Presque Isle CareerCenter, 66 Spruce Street. Job seekers and those looking to change careers will have the opportunity to speak with recruiters working to fill open positions in the construction/trade sectors of Maine's economy

"Hiring fairs give job seekers in Maine the opportunity to meet employers in person and explore career options and this event in Presque Isle focuses on the construction/trade sector," Labor Commissioner Laura Fortman said.

  • ManPower Group
  • Aroosta Cast
  • Maine Staffing
  • Aroostook Trusses

  • Northeast Paving
  • PNM Construction
  • Haney Building Specialties

Tips for attendees include the following points:

  • Research the companies recruiting at the job fair, and if possible, apply for positions before meeting with a recruiter in order to make a positive first impression;
  • Bring a resume and be prepared to have an "interview-like" conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas, and abilities.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O*Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are provided at no cost.
