York legislators to hold office hours

AUGUSTA - Reps. Gerry Runte and Holly Sargent, both D-York, will hold office hours at the York Public Library on Saturday, April 15, from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Appointments are not necessary.

These office hours provide constituents with an opportunity to hear updates from Augusta, ask questions about policymaking and share opinions on state matters. Office hours also serve as an opportunity for residents navigating state agencies to voice concerns.

Rep. Runte is serving his first term in the Maine House and represents Ogunquit, part of Wells and part of York.

AUGUSTA - The climate crisis continues to pose a significant threat to Maine and the world. To help further Maine's transition to clean energy, House Democrats have recently unveiled several pieces of legislation to weatherize existing infrastructure, help implement green building standards for new construction and transition to clean energy without creating additional waste.

Collectively, the measures will help Maine reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, lower energy costs and improve energy independence.

House District

Rep. Gerry Runte is serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives. He serves on the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, as well as the Leaves of Absence Committee.

Runte and his wife, Michelle, who has deep family roots in Maine, settled in York eight years ago. Prior to moving to Maine, he was raised in a career Army family, served in the Army and moved frequently during his career in the energy industry.
