Montell supports efforts to raise awareness about dangers of distracted driving

Legislature honors Hall-Dale Middle School Basketball Team

Representative id

Reps. Karen Montell, D-Gardiner, Dan Shagoury, D-Hallowell, and Michael Lemelin, R-Chelsea, and Senator Craig Hickman, D-Winthrop, welcomed the Hall-Dale Middle School Girls Basketball Team to the State House on Thursday.

The team was recognized by the Maine House of Representatives for winning the 2023 Capital Area League Championship.

Montell appointed to Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee

Representative id

AUGUSTA - Rep. Karen Montell, D-Gardiner, will serve on the Legislature's Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee.

"I'm excited to get started on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee," said Montell. "This committees work is crucial to ensuring fairness in our state's liquor and cannabis policies, protecting voting rights and supporting Maine's veterans. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues on this committee to better the lives of all Mainers."

House District

Rep. Karen Montell is serving her second term in the Maine House of Representatives. She is a member of the Transportation Committee.

Montell has spent a significant amount of time volunteering and working in her community. She served on the Gardiner Recycling Advisory Board, volunteered in local schools and served as co-president of the Gardiner Elementary PTA. She has served as a childcare provider, substitute teacher and as a committee clerk in the Maine Legislature for several years before being elected to the State House.
