Reps. Graham and Shagoury present joint resolution to Maine mental health organizations

HALLOWELL - Today, Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, and Rep. Dan Shagoury, D-Hallowell, presented a joint resolution raising awareness about mental health to Executive Director Jennifer Thompson and Hannah Longley of NAMI Maine and Executive Director Adam Bloom-Paicopolos of the Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services.

Graham and Shagoury both serve as members of the Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services.

AUGUSTA - Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, welcomed North Yarmouth Congregational Church Choir Director, David Myers-Wakeman and Reverend Zebulon Green to the State House on Thursday.

Myers-Wakeman performed the national anthem and Reverend Green delivered the official prayer in the House chamber at the start of the day's session.

A longtime leader in the Greater Portland hospitality industry and a 2019 inductee of the Maine Hospitality Hall of Fame, Palmer was named the South Portland Business Leader of the Year for 2023.

Graham appointed to serve as House chair of commission to improve sustainable investment in public health

AUGUSTA - Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, will serve as the House chair of a new legislative commission that will evaluate how to improve sustained public health investments in Maine. Graham was appointed to serve on the commission by Speaker of the House Rachel Talbot Ross, D-Portland.

Governor signs Graham bill to increase in-home health care access

AUGUSTA - Last week, Gov. Janet Mills signed into law legislation sponsored by Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, that will allow certified nurse practitioners to provide in-home care without a home health care provider license. Currently, licensed nurse practitioners are prohibited from providing in-home care to patients unless they are employed by a managed care organization like a home health agency.

Graham honors longtime Westbrook public servant at State House

Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, (fifth from right) presented a legislative sentiment to Dory Waxman at the State House on Wednesday in honor of her more than 45 years of public service. They were joined by Waxman's family, friends and several graduates of Common Threads of Maine, a nonprofit founded by Waxman dedicated to promoting fulfilling careers in Maine's textile industry by teaching new Mainers to become skilled stitchers. Graham sits on the organizations board.
