AUGUSTA – Three bills to help support Maine workers, introduced by Rep. Amy Roeder, D-Bangor, were passed Tuesday in the Maine
Legislature’s Labor Committee. The bills would require employers to disclose pay ranges, allow employees to request flexible work schedules without retaliation and better regulate employer surveillance.

AUGUSTA – Last Thursday, Rep. Cheryl Golek, D-Harpswell, joined advocates for tax fairness at the State House and called for Maine to adopt a tax structure that makes the wealthy pay their fair share and better supports working families.

Marc Malon, D-Biddeford, to rename the bridge on Main Street between Saco and Biddeford the General Wallace H. Nutting Memorial Bridge.

Maine has long been a state that values community, safety and support for those in need. Yet recent federal cuts to domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking prevention programs threaten to undermine these values, leaving survivors without critical resources and putting lives in danger. The Legislature must step up and fill the funding void left by the federal government.
