The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is excited to announce the creation of a Service Locator Tool through vendor Bamboo Health that will improve how Maine residents access substance use and mental health treatment. Once implemented in Maine, the tool will be available through the following link: TreatmentConnection.com.
The federal deadline to implement the EVV requirements for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 and Hospice providers delivering services under Section 43 is January 1, 2023.

MaineCare is issuing this guidance to nursing facilities regarding the process for facilities to request durable medical equipment (DME) and/or authorization for reimbursement to meet extra staffing needs for residents with bariatric care needs.
The state is now requiring that providers who fall under Sections 18, 20, 21, and 29 fill out a Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Compliance Form. This will ensure that providers of HCBS waiver services are in compliance with applicable requirements for HCBS waiver settings.
MaineCare providers are prohibited from employing or contracting with people who have been excluded by the state or federal government.
Providers must screen all employees and contractors for exclusions and require their contractors to screen their staff for excluded individuals. Providers must screen all new potential employees prior to hire and should routinely screen all staff at set time intervals, e.g., annually, quarterly, etc.
