The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) has awarded $4.3 million to 13 organizations in its first round of Home and Community Based Services HCBS Innovation Pilot Grants designed to support projects that promote greater independence and community participation among individuals with disabilities.

The federal deadline to implement the EVV requirements for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 and Hospice providers delivering services under Section 43 happened January 1, 2023.  

We continue to offer weekly provider and aggregator trainings and forums. All trainings and forums are online via Microsoft Teams.

Providers of Section 40 Home Health services are now required to submit EVV visit records to comply with the 21st Century Cures Act.

OMS has historically allowed up to five days from the service start date to enter prior authorization (PA) information into Kepro’s Atrezzo system. To implement January 1st rate study increases for services that have new modifiers or service changes, Kepro end-dated all previous PAs/cases on February 19th.

Effective January 1, 2023, MaineCare adopted additional prolonged visit codes as defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and identified in the table below. NOTE: On January 1, 2021, MaineCare adopted prolonged visit code G2212 as outlined in the e-message on February 18, 2021.

The attending provider is the individual who has overall responsibility for the patient’s medical care and treatment reported in the claim/encounter.
