Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control
The Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control Program is the Maine State tobacco prevention and control program. Our mission is to reduce death and disability from tobacco use among Maine citizens by creating an environment supportive of a tobacco-free life.
Program Goals
- Prevent youth and young adults from starting to use tobacco.
- Motivate and assist tobacco users to quit.
- Protect nonsmokers from the hazards of secondhand smoke.
- Eliminate disparities related to tobacco use among population groups.
