Using the State template provided by InforME can ensure that the structure of your webpages are accessible, but it's up to those creating and putting content on the web to ensure that it's accessible. This includes tables, images and documents. Materials on the web should always be made accessible.
The State Digital Accessibility Policy (PDF) aligns with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and the revised Section 508 Standards. The policy does not stipulate any specific technology or design approach. The aim is the maximize access to and usability of State of Maine digital information and services (public and internal) by people with disabilities.
