New CareerCenter Opens in Rockland

Rockland- The Rockland CareerCenter will move next week from their facility on Tillson Avenue in Rockland to new offices at the Nautica building on 91 Camden Street.
The new CareerCenter facility brings a number of workforce partners together under one roof including: CareerCenter staff; the Maine Department of Labor, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, which is currently located at 279 Main Street; Coastal Economic Development; and Women Work and Community.
As part of the transition, the Rockland CareerCenter will be closed on Friday, November 18 and Monday, November 21. The Maine Department of Labor, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services will be closed Monday, November 21.
The new CareerCenter will open on Tuesday, November 22 at 8:00 A.M.
?This new site is more accessible and will be able to offer a wider array of services to the public,? said Labor Commissioner Laura A. Fortman. ?Job seekers and employers are encouraged to pay us a visit and learn more about the many employment services available to them at no cost.?
The Rockland CareerCenter is part of a statewide network of 22 locations providing one-stop employment resources for job seekers and employers.
Services for job seekers include job referrals, career counseling, job hunting workshops, labor market information, information on training and skills assessment. The public can use the Information Center to access the internet for employment related purposes and computers are available for resume development.
Services to employers include recruiting, use of interviewing rooms, screening and assessment, labor market information and training resources. Specialized employment services for people with disabilities are also available in the CareerCenter.
