ROCKLAND?The Rockland CareerCenter, part of the Maine Department of Labor, and in conjunction with its partners offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills and employers to find qualified workers.

?Maine?s hit historic numbers of jobs created in consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, wages have been rising since 2015, our unemployment rate has hit an all-time low, and over 11,000 job openings are regularly posted on Maine JobLink,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?Maine employers are hiring. Set your sights on a better-paying job. Maine CareerCenters can help you search for a new or better job, find training, practice for those job interviews, improve your resume and prepare for the dozens of job fairs happening around the state. Career Directions ? Explore your career interests, aptitudes, values, personality, and motivations, and see how they connect to today?s job market. By appointment.

Resume and Cover Letter Writing ? Learn the basics of how to evaluate or create an effective resume and cover letter. By appointment.

Small Business Start-Up Class?Tuesday, April 10, 1 to 3 p.m. Learn the basics about creating a business plan, with certified business counselor David Hill. Call to pre-register.

Effective Interviewing Skills ? Learn some ideas to make your next job interview more effective. By appointment.

Planning Your Job Search ? The latest tips and ideas for a successful job search in today?s labor market. By appointment.

Computer Boot Camp ? To introduce computer basics to people who have never used one before. By appointment.

Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation ? Introduction to services for jobseekers who feel they have a disability that makes it difficult to obtain or keep a job. By appointment. Call 596-2641.
