Maine Dept. of Labor Partnering with R.E.S.T. to Hold Lewiston Job Fair

The Job Fair in Kennedy Park will include employers who are addiction recovery-friendly.

LEWISTON - The Maine Department of Labor's CareerCenter and the Recovery, Employment, Support, Training (R.E.S.T) Center have organized a hiring event from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 in Kennedy Park, 120 Park Street in Lewiston. The job fair will be held rain or shine. While the job fair has been organized to connect people who are in addiction recovery, all job seekers are welcome.

"I am thrilled that the Lewiston CareerCenter has partnered with the REST Center, a thriving recovery organization in downtown Lewiston, to host a job fair - for all job seekers - and with a special emphasis on supporting job seekers who have experienced Substance Use Disorder," said Commissioner Laura Fortman. "We know that stable employment can be a key ingredient in sustaining recovery. Please join us Wednesday afternoon to meet employers and learn about how the CareerCenter can assist you to find your next job opportunity; start on a career path; or connect you to employment and training services specifically targeted to assist individuals that have been impacted by the opioid crisis."
