PRINCIPAL REASON OR PURPOSE FOR PROPOSING THIS RULE: Comply with federal OSHA standards

BRIEF SUMMARY:

To update the rule to incorporate changes to the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, 29 CFR Part 1910, including changes to hazard classification, labeling, and record keeping; eye and face protection standards; and whistleblower protections. To update the rule to incorporate changes to the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, 29 CPR Part 1926, including changes to standards for confined space and cranes and derricks.

ANALYSIS AND EXPECTED OPERATION OF THE RULE:

Comply with rules governing Occupational Safety and Health in general industry employment as promulgated by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration at 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926 as most recently amended as of April 30, 2016.
