“This job fair highlights the many career opportunities Washington County has to offer,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “This is a great time to apply for a job or just to talk to area employers and learn about the training needed to work in our local industries.”
Employers registered to date include: Avon, Calais Advertiser, Calais Regional Hospital, Cianbro, Cilley’s Downeast Waste Disposal, City of Calais, Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Child and Family Services, Maine Air National Guard, Maine Army National Guard, Maine State Police, Maine Veterans Home, MAS Home Care, National ABLE Network, NOAA Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement, Origami Owl, The Discovery House, Lane Construction Corporation, UCP of Maine/Washington County Children’s Program, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wal-Mart, Washington County Community College and Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette reminded jobseekers to come prepared. “Attendees should bring a resume and be prepared to have an ‘interview-like’ conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities.”
“It’s also a good idea to dress professionally,” she added. “You always want to make a positive first impression.”
