Family Camping (Limit 6)
100% disabled veteran, spouse, and unmarried children are exempt from reservation and camping fees.
State Park Rules dictate no more than 6 individuals on a family site. Disabled veteran must be present for the duration of the trip.
Group Camping (More than 6)
Only 100% disabled veterans in group are exempt from reservation and camping fees.
When disabled veteran makes a group camping reservation, his/her DMV letter must be faxed or mailed in. If the group is comprised of only disabled veterans, then all fees will be waived upon presentation of their DMV letters. Members of group that are NOT disabled veterans are responsible for the reservation fee are subject to all regular group camping fees.
Disabled Veterans' Camping List
The veteran must make a request in writing to the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry to be added to the Disabled Veterans' Camping List and submit their Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicle letter that states that they have a disabled veterans' plate for being 100% service-connected to the VA. Requests can be mailed to 22 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04330, emailed to dacf@maine.gov, or faxed to 207-287-2400, and the veteran will be added to the list for free camping benefits.
