Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony - Fort Fairfield

Time: December 7, 2025, 12 - 12:15pm

Location: Aroostook River Bridge, Fort Fairfield, ME

VFW Commander of the Paul-Lockhart VFW Post 6187, Joshua K. Doroen, will lead a ceremony comprised of a short speech, a prayer, and the tossing of a wreath off the bridge in remembrance and respect for the more than 2,400 Americans and Hawai’ians that perished in the attack. This will take place December 7, 2025, from 12:00-12:15 PM. Traffic on the bridge will be stopped for the duration of the event.

Over the years, the VFW and American Legion have paid their respects to the lives lost at Pearl Harbor with a joint ceremony at the Route 1A bridge in town, where we would commemorate the tragic events of Pearl Harbor as they unfolded on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, “A date which will live in infamy,” as President Franklin Roosevelt called it.
