Templates

MCILS Training and Supervision staff have created an array of templates for use by MCILS rostered counsel in representing indigent clients. While Counsel are encouraged to review and use these templates, they are not required to do so. Moreover, these templates are intended as a resource exclusively for Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services (MCILS) rostered attorneys representing indigent clients in criminal cases. These templates do not constitute legal advice. Attorneys must conduct a case-by-case analysis to determine whether and which motions should be filed in each case. Attorneys shall not rely exclusively on these templates. Instead, attorneys should rely on their training, education, and experience in representing clients.

When using any of the templates provided, Counsel should be careful to edit all red portions to suit the particular circumstances of a given matter.

Please note that you must be logged in to your account to view the templates provided here.
