Measure to mitigate shoreline damage in Saco Bay signed into law

AUGUSTA - A bill from Rep. Lynn Copeland, D-Saco, to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' shore damage mitigation project at Camp Ellis was signed into law yesterday.

"This bill is the next step to combat the ongoing erosion caused by the jetty in Camp Ellis, which has been a decades-long mitigation effort," said Copeland. "This is what my neighbors sent me to Augusta to do, and it has been my primary focus since I was sworn into office."

Local legislators join roundtable on storm repair and resiliency efforts

OLD ORCHARD BEACH - Sen. Donna Bailey, D-Saco, and Reps. Lori K. Gramlich, D-Old Orchard Beach, and Lynn Copeland, D-Saco, joined local and state officials on Friday at the Old Orchard Beach Fire Station to discuss storm recovery and resiliency efforts in York County.

The meeting was organized by the newly formed Infrastructure Rebuilding and Resilience Commission, which was created by Gov. Janet Mills to evaluate Maine's response to recent storms and identify ways to prepare for future extreme weather events.

House District

Rep. Lynn Holland Copeland is serving her third term in the Maine House of Representatives. She is a member of the State and Local Government Committee.

Copeland worked as a legal assistant and has worked for decades in county, state, federal and local government. She has previously worked as a year-round L.L. Bean customer service representative and seasonally as a quality coach and in problem resolution.
