Crafts issues statement on committee approval of Highway Fund supplemental budget

AUGUSTA - On Friday, the Legislature's Transportation Committee voted unanimously to give approval to LD 2229, a supplemental spending package to the Highway Fund Budget.

Following the vote, Rep. Lydia Crafts, D-Newcastle, House chair of the Transportation Committee, issued the following statement:br />

AUGUSTA - Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, welcomed North Yarmouth Congregational Church Choir Director, David Myers-Wakeman and Reverend Zebulon Green to the State House on Thursday.

Myers-Wakeman performed the national anthem and Reverend Green delivered the official prayer in the House chamber at the start of the day's session.

Legislature honors Cony High School Swim Team

Representative id

Rep. Raegan LaRochelle, D-Augusta, and Rep. Bill Bridgeo, D-Augusta, welcomed members of the Cony High School Girls' Swim Team to the State House on Wednesday.

The team was recognized by the Legislature for winning the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Championship.

Legislature approves Malon bill to improve support for Mainers recovering from gambling addition

AUGUSTA - The Legislature gave initial approval earlier this week to a measure sponsored by Rep. Marc Malon, D-Biddeford, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety, that would create a universal exclusionary list for all forms of gambling to which those struggling with gambling addiction could voluntarily add their names.
