For families in York County and across Maine, the rising cost of living is making it harder to make ends meet. The costs of housing, child care, health care and more have left folks struggling to keep up with their bills – let alone save for a rainy day or to get ahead.
AUGUSTA – Rep. Holly Eaton, D-Deer Isle, has been appointed to the Surface Water Ambient Toxics (SWAT) Advisory Group. She was appointed by House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, D-Biddeford, as one of two legislators to serve on the advisory group.

As we move into the fall season, there have been two issues I have been hearing more about from constituents: winter heating costs and back-to-school safety.
The cost of keeping your home warm during the winter, particularly for those with fixed incomes, can be a major financial burden. I’ve had the opportunity to serve in the Maine Legislature for more than 20 years, and throughout that time, I’ve witnessed many different state budget negotiations. Until this year, though, I’ve never had first-hand experience with those negotiations. Now, as a member of the Appropriations and Financial Affairs (AFA) Committee, which is responsible for crafting and reviewing the budget line by line, I believe without hesitation that we passed the best possible budget for the people of Maine in June.
AUGUSTA – On Tuesday, Sen. Henry Ingwersen, D-Arundel, House Assistant Majority Leader Rep. Lori Gramlich, D-Old Orchard Beach, and Rep. Bill Pluecker, I-Warren, met at the State House with a visiting delegation of lawmakers and officials from Massachusetts to discuss Maine’s efforts to combat PFAS contamination in the state.
AUGUSTA – Maine State Representative Chris Kessler is urging all Mainers who have canceled their Spectrum internet service in the past year to carefully review their final bill to make sure they are charged only for the days of actual service provided in their last month of billing.
