AUGUSTA - The Legislature gave final approval on Monday to a measure from Rep. Michele Meyer, D-Eliot, that will empower families to build long-term economic security by increasing the amount of money they can save without losing access to benefits under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program, or TANF.

Gov. Janet Mills held a bill signing ceremony Wednesday for LD 239, a measure by Rep. Lori K. Gramlich, D-Old Orchard Beach, to name the Pink-edged Sulphur the state butterfly. Gramlich introduced the bill after hearing from Loranger Middle School students Oscar Stanton and Tate Graham with the idea.
AUGUSTA - On Thursday, Gov. Janet Mills signed into law LD 211, sponsored by Rep. Jessica Fay, D-Raymond, which will allow water utilities to partner with conservation organizations to preserve land in order to protect water quality for their ratepayers.
AUGUSTA - On Thursday, Gov. Janet Mills signed legislation sponsored by Rep. Gerry Runte, D-York, that directs Efficiency Maine to study the feasibility of a vehicle-to-grid electric school bus pilot project at the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District.
