Section 101, Medical Imaging Services: Medicare Standardization Rates Implemented for Calendar Year 2024 (CY24) CR 122712 ​

In follow up to our January 19, 2024 notice, service codes and rates for Section 101, of the MaineCare Benefits Manual are now implemented, effective January 1, 2024, to reflect 72.4% of the most recent 2024 Medicare rates.  

Adjustment of Claims 

​Attention Section 50, Intermediate Care Facilities: Reprocessing of Day Habilitation Claims - CR 122772              

It has been brought to the Department’s attention that the Section 50, Day Habilitation rate effective January 1, 2024, was not implemented on January 1, 2024, as was previously noticed.  

The updated rate for Day Habilitation (0907) has now been implemented as of February 7, 2024.

Maine CDC Announces Possible Hepatitis A Exposure at Westbrook Restaurants

Potentially exposed patrons and staff are encouraged to contact a health care provider

AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) has identified a case of hepatitis A in a Westbrook food service worker. Hepatitis A is a contagious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus. It can spread through person-to-person contact or by consuming contaminated food or water.

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Phase 2 Trainings

The EVV requirements for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 were implemented on January 1, 2023.

We continue to offer weekly EVV provider and aggregator trainings. All trainings are online via Microsoft Teams.

NOTE: The Absorb training system has been updated to allow providers to register for trainings more than once.

Attention Providers: Survey Available on the Correlation Between Alcohol and Cancer

Partnerships For Health is working with the Maine CDC’s Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and Maine’s Impact Cancer Network to better understand clinical perspectives and practices around the link between alcohol consumption and cancer. You’ve been invited to complete a brief survey to share your thoughts and there is still time to participate! The survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete, and your responses will be completely anonymous. The survey has received Institutional Review Board determination (HRPP# 050923-42).

Provider Responsibility for Managing Users in My HealthPAS Trading Partner Accounts (TPA)

It is important for your TPA administrator to actively manage your user accounts for the Health PAS Online Portal. To manage users, log into the administrator TPA and click on “Account Maintenance” and then “Manage Users”. Edit existing, deactivated or reactivated users by clicking on the row of the user you would like to manage. The Administrator of the account and users with a security role of “R7-User Management” are allowed to use these features. 

EVV Providers – Update to Latest Version of the Sandata Mobile Connect (SMC) App

EVV Providers who are currently using the SMC app through their phone, tablet, or other mobile device should update to the latest version of the app using the Apple Store, or Google Play. The current version of the app is being phased out and will no longer be active. To avoid any interruption of visit record keeping, you should now download the app that has a version number of 3.0 or higher.
