“Shot to Get Outdoors” Incentives Provided to 5,365 Maine Residents

From May 11 to Memorial Day on May 31, 5,365 people in Maine who got their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine received one of six incentives to get outdoors, part of Governor Mills’ effort to promote vaccination and healthy activity. This represents 12 percent of 46,271 adults who received a first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine during this period.

What is a Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)?
A Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP; sometimes called a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, or PDMP) is a state-run electronic database that tracks controlled prescription drugs that are dispensed to patients within the state. A PMP is a tool that prescribers, pharmacists, and other healthcare and public health professionals can use to address misuse, abuse, and diversion of prescription drugs.

DHHS and Community Partners Support COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

As part of DHHS’ commitment to equity and inclusion  in Maine’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts the DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) is  supporting  drive-up vaccination clinics that prioritize access and provide additional supports for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) – as well as caretakers, family members, and the local community. To date, OADS has supported six adult IDD vaccine clinics statewide, from Westbrook to Caribou, where more than 250 Mainers have been vaccinated.
