Maine Won't Wait Annual Report 2025

The Maine Climate Council has released its 2025 Annual Report for Maine Won't Wait. The Report highlights progress the state has made on climate action over the past fiscal year (July 2024-June 2025), including:

  • 30% below 1990 greenhouse gas emissions levels
  • 91% of the way to carbon neutrality
  • 20,346 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the road
  • 22.5% of Maine's land conserved
  • and 243 communities enrolled in the Community Resilience Partnership

The Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future has released a new, easy-to-read guide to Maine Won't Wait, the state's plan to tackle climate change. 

Maine's Climate Action Plan: A Guide is an abridged version of Maine's climate action plan that uses plain language, visuals, and stories to make climate strategies clear and accessible, making it perfect for students, educators, and anyone interested in how Maine is building a more resilient future.
