Message From The Director
Thank you for visiting the Division of Purchases' website. We have tried
to include information here that both our agency customers and our suppliers
will find helpful. Recent initiatives that may be of interest include
the following:
- Environmentally Preferable Procurement: In cooperation with the Department
of Environmental Protection, the Division of Purchases has established
an Environmentally Preferable Procurement (EPP) Policy and Program.
- State Purchasing Code of Conduct (5 MRSA §1925-K through P):
Our Code of Conduct applies to suppliers of Apparel, Footwear and Textiles,
and requires all bidders seeking contracts to provide a signed affidavit
stating that they, and to the best of their knowledge their suppliers
at the point of assembly, comply with the workplace laws of the site
of assembly and with treaty obligations that are shared by the United
States and the country in which the goods are assembled.
- Procurement Card Program: Awarded the contract through a competitive
Request for Proposals, JP Morgan Chase is our P-card vendor. The P-card
is used predominantly for purchases under the $2500.00 open market
limit, eliminating paper purchase orders and separate billing/payment
mechanisms and providing an electronic record of transactions.
