Stress management is designed to give participants an opportunity to experience a variety of ways to cope with stress. Stress is inevitable in our lives and this program will look at how each of us views stressful events and the effect our perceptions have on our well- being and life satisfaction. Also included in the program will be an opportunity to explore some physical stress management techniques such as stretching exercises, Tai Chi and others. Current evidence on the connection between stress and illness is explored, with evidence for various coping techniques. Participants are asked to wear clothing that is comfortable, as we will be practicing techniques which will involve movement. Participants should bring a mat or blanket and/or pillow. DHHS employees, please bring a change of clothing so you will be in compliance with the office attire policy if you are returning to your work site after the program.
