Google Analytics

Maine.gov tracks website usage using Google Analytics. Analytics enables you to analyze site traffic using easy-to-understand reports on your visitors - where they come from, how they use your site, and much more.

Important: All Maine.gov websites that have used InforME's UA tracking code in the past have been updated to use the new GA4 tracking code. If you do not have access to your website's GA4 property in your Analytics account, please request access here.

How to sign up for Google Analytics access

  1. To get access to Google Analytics you must first create a Google account that is tied to your Maine.gov email address. You can sign up for an account on the Google website.
  2. Once you have created your Google account, just submit the Analytics request form and you will be given access to your Analytics reports.
  3. Once your account has been given access, you can view your statistics at https://www.google.com/analytics/

A few things to note:

  • Accounts are limited to web coordinators.
  • Google Analytics is a self-service tool.
  • The Maine.gov Analytics access is limited to user accounts, since each sub-domain is a subset of the overall Maine.gov account. This means that some functionality might be unavailable to you.
  • The Google Analytics tracking code is automatically added to site pages by the web server or Drupal. You do not need to change any code within your existing web pages.
