Calculating a Weekly Compensation Rate

To determine the appropriate weekly compensation rate, the first step is to calculate the Average Weekly Wage. The date of injury must also be considered.

For dates of injury on or after 01/01/2013, multiply the Average Weekly Wage by 2, then divide the result by 3

For dates of injury on or prior to 12/31/2012, one must use the Weekly Benefit Table for the year in which the injury occurred

Weekly Benefit Tables

Weekly Benefit Tables for 2013 and later are provided only for calculating Coordination of Benefits pursuant to § 221 of the Workers’ Compensation Act.

Do not use the Weekly Benefit Tables for calculating the Weekly Compensation Rate for dates of injury on or after January 1, 2013 (tables 2013 and after).
