In reporting about accessory dwelling units, or ADUs, being used to address Maine’s housing shortage, WMTW-TV (Channel 8 in Portland) cited the Greater Portland Council of Government’s website Maine ADU Guide, which was funded by the Housing Opportunity Program.
The website provides a detailed explanation of ADU costs, design options, financing and permitting requirements, as well as an interactive tool that allows people to type in their address to see if building an ADU on their property is an option.
