The Town Line reported that the Housing Opportunity Program (HOP) awarded the town of China a $15,000 grant to amend town land use ordinances to comply with recent state housing legislation.
The funding was provided as part of the first round of HOP's Municipal Ordinance Development Grants Program, which supports municipalities in applying ordinance amendments related to LD 1829, LD 997, and LD 427.
Round 2 Municipal Ordinance Development Grants are now open. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until July 31, 2026. Find more information on HOP's Financial Assistance webpage.
