The Portland Press Herald reported that the Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) received funding through the Community Resilience Partnership to conduct climate vulnerability assessments in five communities. GPCOG will facilitate surveys in Standish, Bridgton, Gray, Brook, and Windham designed to identify community members' areas of concerns and prioritize future projects.

Tom Bell, GPCOG Communications Director, said, “Each community will receive its own town-wide quantitative assessment aimed to better understand how local infrastructure, natural resources, and community assets may be impacted by extreme weather events such as flooding, rising temperatures, and other environmental-related hazards.” Then, Bell explained, a technical analysis will identify areas of potential concern and "highlight where future planning and investment may be most needed.”
