The Mount Desert Islander featured the work of Janna Richards, Hancock County Planning Commission’s Regional Resilience Coordinator, in an article about a project in Southwest Harbor to rebuild Manset Pier and construct a second pier near the parking lot. The Regional Resilience Coordinator position is part of the Community Resilience Partnership's Regional Coordinator Program to provide local support to communities to implement climate resilience projects.

According to the article, Richards researched the project and presented her work to the town's Harbor Committee. The project will prioritize a timber-framed reconstruction of the existing pier over a previously discussed concrete alternative. It will also utilize congressionally delegated spending requests.
