The Midcoast Villager reported that the Town of Freedom was awarded a Round 7 Community Action Grant from the Community Resilience Partnership to tackle three local infrastructure and energy priorities. Freedom plans to use its grant for a three-part project addressing an aging stream crossing, pedestrian safety in the village and energy use in municipal buildings.
"Together, the projects give the small Waldo County community an opportunity to address needs that could otherwise prove difficult to tackle with local resources alone," the Midcoast Villager wrote.
CRP is a program of the State Resilience Office at the Maine Office of Community Affairs.
