In reporting about how Maine towns are regulating development in flood zones, the Maine Monitor highlighted the work of the Maine Floodplain Management Program, which is part of the Maine Office of Community Affairs.

Sue Baker, coordinator of the Maine Floodplain Management Program, commented that the state is developing updated flood maps for multiple watersheds and pursuing new initiatives through the recently formed State Resilience Office and Office of Community Affairs.
