AUGUSTA — On Thursday, Oct. 9 at 9 a.m., the Maine Supreme Judicial Court will arrive at Falmouth High School to hear oral arguments for three different legal cases.. The event, which is being organized by Rep. Amy Kuhn, D-Falmouth, will provide local high school students the opportunity to witness proceedings of the state’s judicial branch up close.
AUGUSTA – Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth, and Senate Majority Leader Teresa S. Pierce, D-Falmouth, will hold office hours on Friday, Oct. 10 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Wescustago Hall and Community Center. The community center is located at 120 Memorial Highway in North Yarmouth. Appointments are not necessary.

AUGUSTA – A new law sponsored by Rep. Kristi Mathieson, D-Kittery, to provide a lifeline to essential federal workers impacted by a government shutdown went into effect last week. The law, which was enacted by the Legislature earlier this year and signed by Gov. Janet Mills, is especially timely, as the federal government shut down at midnight on Oct. 1 for the first time in nearly seven years.

Fall has arrived, and while it might be my favorite season, the cooler weather means that the cold winter months are right around the corner. How my family is going to heat our home in the upcoming months – and how much it will cost – has been on my mind.
The rising cost of living, from expensive healthcare to increasing utility bills, is one of the most common issues that I have been hearing about consistently from constituents. It’s hitting a lot of Maine families hard, especially those on fixed incomes.

As we move into the fall season, I’ve spoken to a lot of folks in our community who are especially worried about being able to adequately heat their homes this winter.
AUGUSTA – Rep. Tiffany Roberts, D-South Berwick, was unanimously chosen by the Retail Association of Maine’s Board of Directors to be the 2025 recipient of the Jim McGregor Award.
The Jim McGregor award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to fight for issues that matter most to Maine’s retail and business community. Roberts is being recognized for her work pushing for data privacy legislation, reasonable improvements to Maine’s paid family and medical leave law and consistent support for Maine businesses and economic development.
