AUGUSTA - Rep. Charles Skold, D-Portland, will serve as a member of the Labor and Housing Committee in the 131st Legislature after being appointed to the committee by Speaker of the House Rachel Talbot Ross, D-Portland.
"Maine is a great place to visit, but it's an even better place to live and work," said Skold. "I look forward to advocating for affordable housing and workers rights for all, in Portland and throughout the state. I encourage every Maine resident who has struggled with paying rent or finding a home to consider submitting testimony this session to make sure the needs of everyday Mainers are front and center before this committee."
The committee oversees state policy relating to MaineHousing, the Maine Department of Labor, the Maine Public Employees Retirement System, workers compensation, business regulation, wages, and workplace health and safety.
Skold is serving his first term in the Maine House. He represents part of Portland in District 119, which comprises sections of downtown, Munjoy Hill and the Casco Bay Islands.
