Salisbury accepted to Council of State Governments' 2022 Eastern Leadership Academy

AUGUSTA - Rep. Sue Salisbury, D-Westbrook, has been accepted to the Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy (ELA) as a member of the class of 2022.

Sponsored by the Council of State Governments' Eastern Regional Conference in partnership with the Fels Institute of Government, the ELA brings together 30 selected state officials for four days of intensive training with experts in communications, government and policy development. The program includes lectures with award-winning faculty from the University of Pennsylvania and involves hands-on workshops in leadership styles, civil discourse, the current political climate and more.

"I'm honored to have been selected for this program," said Salisbury. "The Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy provides a unique opportunity for state officials from across the region to share our knowledge and to learn from each others experiences. I look forward to connecting with colleagues from around the region and am excited to bring this knowledge back home to Maine."

Salisbury is serving her first term in the Maine House of Representatives as a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs, representing a portion of Westbrook. Earlier this year she was recognized as one of 20 Outstanding Women of 2022 by Coast 93.1 and Hannaford for her contributions to the community. Salisbury is also a small business owner, chair of the Westbrook school committee and chair of the Legislatures Emergency Medical Services caucus.
