AUGUSTA - Rep. Morgan Rielly, D-Westbrook, attended the Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy (ELA) as a member of the class of 2023 late last month.
Sponsored by the Council of State Governments' Eastern Regional Conference in partnership with the Fels Institute of Government, the ELA brings together 30 selected state officials for four days of intensive training with experts in communications, government and policy development. The program includes lectures with award-winning faculty from the University of Pennsylvania and involves hands-on training to enhance leadership and communication skills.
"I am honored to be among a selective group of legislators and state government staff chosen to participate in the 2023 Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy," said Rielly. "I enjoyed listening to and learning from colleagues in state governments across the country and look forward to future collaboration in addressing Maine's most pressing needs."
Rielly is serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives and is a member of the Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on Veterans and Legal Affairs. He represents House District 127, which includes a portion of Westbrook.
