AUGUSTA - Rep. Anne Perry, D-Calais, will serve as House chair of the Legislature's Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee (HCIFS).
"I am honored to be named chair of this committee," said Perry. "As a health care professional, I know how important insurance and health coverage are to our population. I'm excited to work with my colleagues in a bipartisan way to find solutions to improve this system in order to benefit all Mainers.
Perry was appointed by House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross. The HCIFS Committee oversees policy related to banking, financial institutions, insurance, prescription drugs and the State Employee Health Commission.
Perry will also serve as a member of the Joint Select Committee on Joint Rules. She is serving her eighth nonconsecutive term in the Maine House. She represents Baileyville, Baring, Calais, Eastport, Grand Lake Stream, Meddybemps, Passamaquoddy Pleasant Point, Perry, Robbinston and Passamaquoddy Indian Township.
