AUGUSTA - Mainspring, a southern Maine resource hub under development by Fair Tide, Footprints Food Pantry and York County Community Action, is set to receive $1 million in federal funding as part of the recent funding bill for fiscal year 2024 approved by Congress last week.
Mainspring will be a centralized location offering support services in York County. This one-stop resource center will bring several well-established agencies together under one roof to offer families comprehensive health and social services, as well as stable, affordable housing.
"This much-needed partnership aligns with our state's goals to regionalize local assistance hubs and streamline services," said Mathieson. "By working together, these organizations will be able to deliver services much more efficiently. Receiving clear, coordinated support not only eases a person's stress during a difficult time, but also decreases redundancies and waste. I'm ecstatic that Mainspring will be receiving this funding."
Mathieson is serving her second term in the Maine House representing Kittery. She serves on the Legislature's Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee and the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.
