AUGUSTA - Rep. Michel Lajoie, D-Lewiston, will serve as a member of the Legislature's Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.
Lajoie, who previously served in the Maine House of Representatives for four terms, was appointed to the committee by House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross. The committee oversees the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety as well as policy related to Maines criminal law and procedures.
"I am proud to be back in the House of Representatives serving the community of Lewiston," said Lajoie. "I am looking forward to working with the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee over the next two years to improve Maines public safety laws and our states emergency management systems, advocate for a fair criminal justice system and help ensure that survivors of crimes receive the support they need."
