AUGUSTA – Rep. Wayne Farrin, D-Jefferson, will serve as a member of the Legislature’s Marine Resources Committee and State and Local Government Committee during the 132nd Legislature. Farrin was appointed by House Speaker Ryan Fecteau.
“Growing up on the water in South Bristol, I understand how important protecting the lobster industry in Maine is,” said Farrin. “I am committed to preserving our working waterfront’s way of life and ensuring state agencies and local government serve all Mainers equally. It’s an honor to be named to two committees that play a crucial role in making sure that state government delivers for Mainers.”
The Marine Resources Committee oversees the Department of Marine Resources, as well as policy related to commercial marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement, the processing and sale of marine fish and shellfish and aquaculture. The State and Local Government Committee oversees legislation relating to municipal, county and regional government systems, state agencies, memorials and more.
Farrin is serving his first term in the Maine House and represents Jefferson, Alna, Whitefield and Wiscasset.
